Made a new bottle. Im finally getting around to exploring some of the forms that I saw at the Morandi show last month.
The finish on the black bottles is nice at cone ten but the clay warps beyond belief. Going to have to stick to cone six!
Today would have been my mother’s 59th birthday. I thought she would have been older by now but that just goes to show how young she was when she passed away in 2006.
Black bottles coming soon!
I feel like porcelain is already changing the direction of things.
Hello 2021.
Morandometti has some exciting stuff lined up for the near future.

1. I’m switching to working with @zerimarclay’s three bodies only.
2. I’m going to make functional work like an oil & vinegar set.
3. We will hav

Folks ask how I get the bottles in the kiln and the answer is one at a time.
Baby bottles thrown on the wheel and fired to cone ten at GHP. Swipe left to see them before they went through the gas kiln.
Reduction/Oxidation
These warped a lot while drying but it is my fault; I only wrapped half of the bottle and the other half ended up being bone dry.
A clay body I can trust!
I’m tired of disappointing glaze results so I made these tall and short bottles using @zerimarclay’s concrete and slate. This clay is so gorgeous, only the inside will be glazed.
At 38” this bottle is as tall as the kiln.
I’m spraying a cone ten white glaze on first in hopes of adding clarity to the bottle glass glaze. I’m also making some out of white stoneware and still others covering with porcelain slip, it’s experimental time!
